The story of Berit and Contra

On our homepage and elsewhere you can notice two odd persons - Berit and Contra.

Berit is a nice chick from Tallinn, who is personnel consultant and drives around with a small urban car. However, across Estonia she travels by bus - to visit her boyfriend in Tartu, a friend in Pärnu or grandmother in Toila. Contra however, who is living in Urvaste at Võru County, is farmer-writer and frequently dispatched to Capital and elsewhere by work.

They met in Täistunni Ekspress (Hourly Express). Berit was struggling with a poem for her boyfriend's birthday card. Contra kindly offered his help and with joined forces a real poetry pearl was born. During a cosy conversation it turned out that poetizing is their common hobby and that is why they pleasantly stayed in touch. A poem at that time turned out as such (in Estonian):

Kallis!

Istudes bussis minuteid loen,
varsti sul rõõmsalt sülle poen.

Kallistan kõvasti, ragiseks luud,
sulle annaks ka mususuud.

Lõbusalt kringlit ja torti sööks,
mõnusalt aega surnuks lööks.

Vastu hommikut vaikselt põhku poeme,
nõnda sünnipäevapeo peetuks loeme.
