Characterization The period of Ikarus started on the Roads of Estonia in the 60-ies. Middle and older generations remember fervently the Ikarus LUX with the "tale" which is acknowledged for the top product of the bus construction of that time. Ikarus buses were significantly more comfortable and economical, with softer suspension and more reliable than earlier buses of USSR.

Collective farm of Viru-Nigula

Bus was mainly used for transporting people from town to work in the country, and for taking the local people on tours etc. After the engine broke down, it was put for demolition line.

Koit Kerem (Rakvere)  
Koit Kerem with Rein Vichmann and other friends who are interested from old technology are maintaining the bus and start to renovate it.

Renovation of Ikarus Lux

Renovation time 
Body and cabin works in autumn 2006 - summer 2009, engine and energy system in the year 2010.
Working hours Over 3000 working hours (by the beginning of 2010).
Goal To restore as much as possible of the original outlook.
Experts Handymen of Võru department Avo Kall (body works), Robert Kuusik and Kalvar Kungus under the supervision of Indrek Lepa.
After renovation It is in plan to apply for the black heritage number plate.
